Our Data Centre
Network House was purpose built in 2005 to cater for the growing need for server colocation and hosting requirements outside the normal urban environment. Many clients are now having concerns about hosting their crucial data and services in data centres located in areas of mass population where there may be a threat of an act of terrorism. With this in mind, Shropshire was chosen and the data centre is located only 5 minutes from the UK motorway network, 45 minutes from Birmingham, providing an easy commute.
The location was carefully chosen considering all eventualities such as flood, fire & security. The data centre itself was designed with a high level of physical security in mind such as steel reinforced floors and ceilings, steel lined walls and multple levels of security.
Network House provides conference, onsite parking and canteen facilities for use by customers.
Power
All of our equipment is protected by state of the art, high efficiency UPS systems. We also have a quick start generator on site which takes over running of the data centre within seconds.
Environment
The hosting suite is kept at a constant 21 degrees by N+1 air conditioning systems. The temperature is monitoring constantly with automated notifications to engineer mobiles in the event of an unusual variance in temperature.
Connectivity
The data centre is connected directly to Telecity in Manchester and the Docklands in London. We run a fully autonomous BGP network so traffic can flow freely via either provider.
Security
The building is monitored 24x7 with CCTV, both inside and out, and was purpose built with the main hosting suite surrounded by concrete and steel.
New visitors are required to provide photographic ID the first time they wish to enter the data centre if they are unknown to staff.
