Managed Data Backup / Offsite Storage

Many companies have network storage devices that store large amounts of business critical data. It's common to see businesses rely on the built-in redundancy of these devices to handle any faults, but are unaware that there are many failure cases that can make all data unavailable, and very difficult to recover.

Userve manage bespoke offsite backup solutions for many customers, and provide support to make sure backups are running and that the data is stored safely. Some of the benefits we can provide include:

• Help configuring network devices to provide a secure connection between your office and our Data Centre, and configuring backup on your storage device or server.
• USB or DVD storage device containing your data (or requested parts of it) in the event of loss of access to your local storage.
• Encryption support to make sure all data on disk is secure
• Historic snapshots, allowing recovery of data that may have been overwritten or deleted weeks or months ago.
• Bespoke monitoring system that alerts us of any errors, but also flags any backup jobs that have not submitted a completion notice during their normal schedule.

 

Pricing

Our standard service is priced per 100GB, excluding space used for snapshots. If you are interested in our offsite storage, please contact us with your requirements for a bespoke quote. Please note we only provide storage in increments of 100GB

 

 

Technical Information

Our engineers will create either an IPSec or OpenVPN connection from your equipment to our data centre, using the highest available encryption standards. If you have existing IT support, we can work with your existing support company to set up a secure connection.

Our data storage servers use a technology called ZFS, which our engineers have extensive experience with. This not only provides multiple layers of redunancy, but also allows us to regularly "scrub" the data, making sure every single bit is intact. Many customers store data for years and only realise that a file is corrupt when it's needed. With our storage system, we continually make sure all your data is intact and working.

We fully manage the offsite storage and can provide access to the data, or a full copy, when required.
